Here are all official OnePlus 3 cases HANDS ON

So, the excitement got to you and you just couldnt wait a second longer to order the OnePlus 3. If you are reading this, chances are youve either already ordered one or you are seriously considering the $399 flagship.

In either case, picking a case for extra protection of the phones exquisite metal body sure sounds like a nice idea.

We have gathered here the case lineup that OnePlus has prepared for its latest phone. Sure, prices might be steeper than third-party alternatives, but you do get a classy and high-quality case to complement the phones gorgeous design. Or do you? Join us as we attempt to find out.

First, lets get the basics out of the way. Regardless of the names and finish on most of the cases that clearly suggest the use of wood, there seem to be no natural materials involved in any of the models - not by the looks of it. Dont get us wrong, this is great from an environm ental standpoint, but we cant help but think some actual bamboo or rose wood would have felt a lot classier.

As things stand right now, all the cases seem to be made of a plastic compound that feels pretty durable and has some flex to it, but not too much. They all fit perfectly and snugly and share the same general shape that covers all corners all the way to the front, so the level of protection and handling are pretty identical.

Four of the five cases, including the Bamboo, Black Apricot, Rosewood and Karbon are made by Evutec - a popular US case manufacturer, whos approach and philosophy does fit nicely with the ECO theme.

This is the reason why these four cases have the same thickness and overall feel and also share the same price of €25. The texture of the finish on the individual cases does differ to some degree, but OnePlus has definitely opted for a toned-down approach. The wood options have just a slight texture feel and the Karbon is almost entirely smooth.

The faux wood effect is convincing even up close - it kinda reminds of laminate flooring panels - you would know its not real wood but you wouldnt mind as you get more durability and a uniform finish.

When it comes to choosing a favorite, its all about personal taste, but going around the team, we mostly agreed that the Bamboo and Rosewood options are a bit tacky unless the occasion demands it. The Black Apricot and Karbon definitely blend in better and are more understated.

In terms of thickness, neither case adds too much to the OnePlus 3s girth. Yet, they seem enough to protect the buttons on the sides - they also level out the camera bump on the back almost entirely.

You may have noticed we havent mentioned the signature OnePlus Sandstone case so far and there is a good reason for that. The simple answer is that it is just too different from the rest. Unlike those, it does not bear the Evutec logo so we assume it is not made by the same company. In terms of shape and form it is identical, but the material is a bit thicker and more rigid. It is also the only one of the bunch, which manages to raise the back enough to completely match the camera bump.

Best of all, the Sandstone case is currently selling for €20 so its also the cheapest of the bunch.

If you havent touched the texture of any of the previous iterations of the OnePluss Sandstone Black, prepared to be surprised. Its quite like touching real sandpaper. And this feeling has been a rather polarizing topic among our team members. About half of us love it, while the other half loathes touching the materials as it gives them a skin crawling feeling along the spine. Anyway, this comes only to show that its among the most original textures you can get for your phone.

So thats about it for now, make sure you hit us up in the comments to tell us whether youre getting the OnePlus 3 and which case you like the best.

In the meantime, were already hard at work on our OnePlus 3 review, so stay tuned, it should be up online by the end of next week.

Benchmark reveals Samsung Galaxy On7 2016 specs

The Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) was imported for testing earlier this month and now the phone has surfaced over at GFX Benchmark. The detected specs detail a pretty big upgrade over the 2015 entry level model.

The screen size was detected as 4.8", though were willing to bet its actually still a 5.5" big (5" or so is for the On5). The screen resolution went up to 1080p (from 720p), a big improvement.

The phone will have double the CPU cores, RAM and storage of its predecessor. Youll get eight A53 cores (at much higher 2GHz), 3GB of RAM and 16GB storage. The GPU is a modern Adreno 506.

The main camera on the Galaxy On7 (2016) stays at 13MP with 1080p video capture, but the selfie cam was bumped up to 8MP/1080p.

Pricing is expected to be in the $150-$200 range when the phone launches in mid-August (those are speculations for now). Samsungs hierarchy is getting pretty complex with th e Galaxy C7 and the Galaxy A7 (2016) also vying for attention.

Apple may have given 100 of A11 chipset orders to TSMC

Apple has been trying to find a company other than Samsung to manufacture its chipsets. Current indications are that it succeeded and TSMC is building the upcoming Apple A10 chipsets (to be used in the iPhone 7).

The Taiwanese company may have scored the deal for the following year and the A11 chipset too. All of them.

The current A9 is built on Samsungs 14nm process, but the A10 is allegedly using TSMCs 16nm process as the 10nm one wasnt ready.

It seems that the company has mage progress and the A11s will be built on 10nm. Or it could be that it offered a lower price than Samsung. Either way, TSMC will reportedly start volume production in Q3 2017.

MediaTek and HiSilicon (Kirin) are also expected to order 10nm chips from TSMC, while Qualcomm may go with Samsung for 10nm Snapdragon 830 chipsets.

While it may have moved chipset manufacture away from Samsung, rumor s say Apple will lean on Samsung for AMOLED displays (currently it uses LCDs from Sharp, LG, JDI).
